Rank - Black Belt
I came to Philly from the countryside to study engineering in 2006. After a difficult period in my life, I needed something grounding, intense, and fun to help me regain my focus and self worth. I already had a black belt from a McDojo, so I wanted to study something more legit. Over the next 15 years, I earned my blackbelt, and picked up a good amount of Judo, Muay Thai, and a half a dozen other things on the way. Despite all those other arts, Jiujitsu has always remained my main focus because of its complexity, interactivity, and balance of the intellectual and physical. The masters program is a great place for me to improve my instruction while maintaining my physical strength and endurance. The smaller size of the program has given me the chance to really consider each of my students and what they need in a class. I am excited to watch them learn and improve in the art.
